Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms & conditions carefully. These terms & conditions apply to anyone starting an El Roi TEFL Online or In Class Course.

The contract between El Roi European Centre for Education and the student will be on these conditions, to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions. Any variations to these conditions shall have no effect unless agreed in writing. Receipt of a confirmation email after a booking indicates our acceptance of the student’s booking. All students must print their confirmation email and bring it to their first day of their course.

Course requirements
By commencing an El Roi TEFL course you confirm that you meet the following minimum requirements:
1. You have an awareness of the basic concepts of language teaching
2. You have a B2, C1 or C2 level of English speaking and the ability to read and understand English language materials
3. You have an ability to take advice from both tutors and peers, and the capability to improve as a result.

English language level of the trainee
You must have a sufficient level of English language in order to enrol on an El Roi TEFL course. Non-native English
speakers who want to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL) must have a minimum English language level equivalent
to B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
If, at any point during the course, a tutor feels that your English language ability is insufficient, your case will be forwarded
to our Director of Studies. If both the tutor and Director of Studies believe your English language skills are insufficient to
competently teach EFL, we reserve the right to fail you.
If you are unsure whether your English is at the required level, you should contact the El Roi TEFL office to discuss
requirements with a member of staff before purchasing a course.

Timescales for completing a course
You will normally be given a specified time in which to complete an online course, starting from the point at which you
enrol on the course. Any alteration to this timescale will be set out in the specific course information.
If you fail to complete the course within this time you may extend your study time. You may extend your study period
more than once, and can do so at any point during your course. You can also have an extension after your initial study
period has expired, as long as the course is still available.
El Roi TEFL will charge an additional fee for each extension, as follows:
1 Two weeks (fifteen days) extension: £29.95 / €39.95 / U$39.95 / CA$59.95 / AU$59.95 / NZ$64.95 / ZAR675.95
2 One month (thirty days) extension: £49.95 / €59.95 / US$69.95 / CA$99.95 / AU$99.95 / NZ$105.95 / ZAR1119.95

If the student doesn't take exam within the anticipated deadline (TEFL 120 hrs 3 months, 180 hrs 4 months, 220 hrs 5-6 months, 250 hrs 6 months) he has to renew the registration.

Requirements for passing a course
Subscription to an El Roi TEFL course does not automatically lead to successful completion of the course. Should you
fail to reach the required standards, we reserve the right to fail you.
The requirements for passing an individual course are set out in the information for each specific course. If you are unsure
of the requirements, or need clarification, email elroischools@gmail.com
Where an end of course test is included, you must successfully complete all elements to the required standard in order to
pass the course. This may include submission of written work as well as online tests.
Work is marked against agreed performance criteria. If you do not pass any element of an end of course test initially, you
are entitled to request feedback prior to making a subsequent attempt. If you do not pass any element of an end of course
test, El Roi TEFL reserves the right to fail you.
No refunds are possible in situations where a trainee has failed the course. El Roi TEFL also reserves the right to not
accept failed trainees on subsequent courses.

If you are reasonably suspected of plagiarism, you will be issued with a formal warning. If the plagiarism continues you will
be referred to our Director of Studies who may dismiss you from the course. In these circumstances you will not be
entitled to a refund for your course.

You will receive an electronic certificate within ten days upon successful completion of your course components and required
tests. This will be an official certificate which can be passed onto future employers and verified using the following link:
